Quick Energizing Yoga Break
Rather than a coffee break, take a quick energizing yoga break. In less than 5 minutes you’ll learn a simple yoga move and breathing technique that will energize you better than coffee!
You can practice this quick energizing yoga break standing or seated.
Simply inhale for a count of 8 as you open your arms, elbows bent and hands up in cactus pose. Enjoy a gentle stretch in your chest as you bring your shoulder blades toward one another.
Next, exhale for 6 counts as you bring your elbows and palms to meet in front of you.
Place an emphasis on each inhalation by making it slightly longer than each exhalation. When you sync your physical movement with your breath and focus your attention you are practicing yoga, versus stretching. This concentrated balance of effort and ease directs more energy into your body.
You’ll want to practice for at least 5 breaths. It shouldn’t take you more than 3 minutes once you get the hang of it.
